Is delivery included in the rental price?
It depends on the provider. Ski-Mobile and Doorstep Skis both advertise free delivery. Doorstep Skis' booking terms add that a minimum order applies before it delivers, without stating the amount.
All Mountain Rental charges €15, waived on orders over €100 after discounts. Its terms also add a €3.90 booking fee per reservation. Intersport Les Gets does not publish a delivery charge on the pages we checked.
Rental prices change by date and live in each booking system. We have not compared them. Online discounts are common, so compare full quotes for your dates rather than headline rates.
Can boots be fitted and exchanged at the accommodation?
All four fit at your accommodation. Ski-Mobile fits from its van outside the door. It will swap kit at your accommodation at the start or end of the day for free; moving to a higher category costs more.
Doorstep Skis will visit to change equipment, or you can call in at its shop. All Mountain Rental says it carries spare kit for changes but does not publish a swap policy. Intersport Les Gets does not state one either.
If your boots hurt on day one, ask for a change that evening rather than skiing through it.
Is children's equipment available?
All Mountain Rental lists child, junior and teen packs, plus children's boots and a child helmet. Intersport Les Gets rents children's equipment and checks boot sizes at fitting.
Ski-Mobile lists kids' Riglet snowboards. We could not confirm its children's ski packages. Doorstep Skis does not publish a children's range, although its booking terms list replacement costs for child and junior skis.
Ski-Mobile and All Mountain Rental ask for each skier's height, weight and shoe size when you book. Measure children before you travel.
How do arrival-day fitting and departure-day collection work?
You book online with each skier's sizes, then agree a fitting time. Ski-Mobile delivers from 8am to 8pm and phones to set the slot. If you arrive late, it can leave the kit and talk you through fitting by phone. All Mountain Rental confirms a delivery time by WhatsApp before you arrive.
Collection is usually on your last ski day. Ski-Mobile collects from your accommodation. Doorstep Skis collects at a time agreed at fitting, or you can drop kit at the shop. All Mountain Rental requires someone to be present at collection. Intersport's Ski Collect is an option you choose when booking.
On a Saturday transfer, an evening fitting means you can ski first thing on Sunday.
When might a rental shop be more convenient?
Delivery is not always better. A shop makes sense if you pass it daily on the way to the lifts, want to try several boots in one visit, or plan to switch between skis and a snowboard.
Small orders can fall below a delivery minimum. Doorstep Skis says small orders can still be collected from its shop. Some Morzine hotels are excluded from its delivery, and Ski-Mobile collects specialist kit such as touring skis from its Montriond workshop.
Staying in Avoriaz? Ski-Mobile does not deliver there. Check each provider's area before booking.
