AIRPORT TRANSFERS · AVORIAZ
Geneva to Avoriaz transfers
Avoriaz is car-free, so no transfer takes you to your door. Vehicles stop at the Welcome Centre at the resort entrance, at 1,800m, or at the Prodains cable car in the valley below. From there you walk, pull a luggage sledge, or take a sleigh or snowcat.
We verified five providers for this route. Where they stop matters more than anything else in the table. Check it before booking.

Shared or private?
Shared is cheaper but gives you less say over where you stop. Alpine Fleet's shared run stops in Morzine and Les Gets first and always ends at the Welcome Centre. Guests at the Amara residence are dropped beside the building.
Most private transfers also end at the Welcome Centre. Alps2Alps describes door-to-door service but says return pick-up is only from the Welcome Center at Parking la Falaise. In a car-free resort, plan on the Welcome Centre.
How long does the journey take?
Each provider publishes its own estimate for normal conditions. They do not all measure the same thing, so treat them as a range rather than a promise.
The final climb from Morzine is a winding road. Snow slows it sharply, and the Prodains cable car is the official alternative to that road.
- Alpine Fleet About 1h30 to 2h; its page gives several figures
- Alps2Alps About 1h25 to 1h30
- AlpyBus About 1h50
- Ski-Lifts About 1h40
- Skiidy Gonzales About 1h40 to 1h45
Welcome Centre or Prodains cable car?
The Welcome Centre is the easier arrival with luggage. The official Avoriaz site says the unloading docks sit next to the welcome zone, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week in season. Staff are on hand, with a heated waiting room and luggage sledges released with a €1 or €2 coin.
The Prodains option drops you at the valley station of the Prodains Express, a four-minute cable car ride up to Place Jean Vuarnet. Alpine Fleet advises against this stop with heavy luggage. AlpyBus runs about 90% of its shared Avoriaz service there and uses the Avoriaz Accueil outside lift hours.
Alpine Fleet and AlpyBus give the cable car's pedestrian hours as 07:00 to 21:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00 to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 07:00 to 22:00 on Sunday. Check the official timetable before a late arrival.
Getting from the drop-off to your accommodation
Inside the resort, around 20 horse-drawn sleighs run as taxis during the day. Snowcats add capacity on arrival days and take over after dark. The service does not take reservations. Ask at the welcome desk once you are outside and ready.
The official transport number is +33 (0)4 50 74 01 55, open 24 hours. A luggage room opens on Saturdays if your accommodation is not ready; the official site gives slightly different hours in two places, so check.

Picking up at Geneva Airport
Most transfer desks are in the arrivals hall on the Swiss side. Mountain Drop-offs notes that only flights from France arrive on the French side, with a signed walk to the Swiss side. Allow time for baggage and sports equipment, which arrive on a separate belt.
Give every provider your flight number so it can track delays. Here is where each says it meets you.
- Alpine Fleet Desk in the Terminal 1 arrivals hall. Turn right, near the yellow visitor services desk.
- Alps2Alps Driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign.
- AlpyBus Desks in the arrivals hall. Turn right out of baggage reclaim, about 20 metres, beside the Montreux Jazz Café.
- Ski-Lifts Not confirmed on the pages checked.
- Skiidy Gonzales Swiss side. In the arrivals hall turn left; the desk is opposite the UBS ATMs.
Public transport to Avoriaz
Altibus says the Y91 bus from Thonon and the Y92 from Cluses reach Avoriaz only on some winter days, mainly Saturdays. On other days they end in Morzine, below the resort.
The Prodains Express cable car links Les Prodains in the valley with Avoriaz 1800. Check how you will reach Les Prodains before relying on public transport.

What does it cost?
We do not print fares on this page. Prices move with date, flight time, group size and vehicle, and a headline "from" fare is the lowest available, not your price.
Shared fares are per person. Private fares are per vehicle. Compare one-way and return quotes on the same basis, for the same dates and the same number of passengers. We have not run a like-for-like quote exercise, so we do not say which provider is cheapest.
Not in this comparison
Mountain Drop-offs publishes a Geneva to Avoriaz page and names the Welcome Centre as its main drop-off. The page does not say whether winter transfers are shared or private, so it is not in the table.
