Geneva to Méribel transfers

Checked · 5 providers verified · Editorial comparison

Méribel is a long transfer from Geneva. Providers quote from about 2h15 to 3h30, depending on service and traffic. The last stretch climbs from Moûtiers, where many shared services change vehicle.

We verified five providers. Ben's Bus sells weekend shared coaches to fixed stops. The other four offer shared and private, with different drop-off arrangements.

Shared or private?

Shared services on this route usually involve a change. Alpine Fleet's door-to-door option changes at Moûtiers bus station. AlpyBus runs coaches to Moûtiers with a Méribel minibus onwards. Ben's Bus stops at Les Ravines in Méribel 1500 or at Méribel Village, then you take the free resort shuttle.

On a long route, private saves the changes and the airport wait. Families with young children should note that neither Ben's Bus nor Alpine Fleet's shared coaches carry children under four.

How long does the journey take?

Each provider publishes its own estimate for normal conditions. They do not all measure the same thing, so treat them as a range rather than a promise.

Saturday changeover traffic is the main risk. Ski-Lifts allows up to 2h45 on busy days, and Alpine Fleet quotes about 3h30 for the return.

  • Alpine Fleet About 2h45 up; about 3h30 on the return
  • Alps2Alps About 2h25 to 2h30
  • AlpyBus About 3h30 private; shared not stated
  • Ben's Bus About 2h20
  • Ski-Lifts About 2h15; up to 2h45 on busy days

Arriving in Méribel

Méribel is several villages. Alpine Fleet's fixed stops include Méribel Village, Les Allues, Mussillon, Les Ravines and Chaudanne in Méribel centre, and several stops in Mottaret. Ski-Lifts puts Mottaret, the highest village, at around 1,700m.

Tell your provider which village you are staying in, not just Méribel.

Picking up at Geneva Airport

Most transfer desks are in the arrivals hall on the Swiss side. Mountain Drop-offs notes that only flights from France arrive on the French side, with a signed walk to the Swiss side. Allow time for baggage and sports equipment, which arrive on a separate belt.

Give every provider your flight number so it can track delays. Here is where each says it meets you.

  • Alpine Fleet Desk in the Terminal 1 arrivals hall. Turn right, near the yellow visitor services desk.
  • Alps2Alps Driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign.
  • AlpyBus Desks in the arrivals hall. Turn right out of baggage reclaim, about 20 metres, beside the Montreux Jazz Café.
  • Ben's Bus Desk in the Terminal 1 arrivals lounge.
  • Ski-Lifts Not confirmed on the pages checked.

Public transport to Méribel

Méribel has no train station. Altibus sells a winter-only coach from Geneva Airport.

By train, go to Moûtiers and take the S64 bus to Méribel and Mottaret. Altibus says it runs all year, with more departures in winter.

What does it cost?

We do not print fares on this page. Prices move with date, flight time, group size and vehicle, and a headline "from" fare is the lowest available, not your price.

Shared fares are per person. Private fares are per vehicle. Compare one-way and return quotes on the same basis, for the same dates and the same number of passengers. We have not run a like-for-like quote exercise, so we do not say which provider is cheapest.

Not in this comparison

Mountain Drop-offs has a Geneva to Méribel page but does not say whether the service is shared or private, so it is not in the table.

Sources and method

Every row comes from the provider’s own website, checked on the date shown. We include a business only where its current site confirms this exact route and service. Policies change, so confirm details with the provider before you book.
